Welcome to the Village of Loami incorporated in 1875! Loami is a village in western Sangamon County, Illinois. The population was 745 in the 2010 census. The Village of Loami is adjacent to Nipper Wildlife Sanctuary, a parcel of tallgrass prairie replanted on the loam soil after which Loami received it's name.
